Chinese herbal medicine has been in clinical use for at least 2000 years. Medicines are all from nature and include numerous plant, animal and mineral products. Herbs can be taken in many forms, including tea cooked from raw ingredients, powders, capsules, tablets, or tinctures. I completed an intensive three-year program of study and have practiced Chinese herbal medicine since 2001. Much of my practice has included treating women for digestive, hormonal and fertility issues.
Plant spirit medicine, a technique that blends household shamanism with Five Element Acupuncture, is a needle-free treatment that is very relaxing and helps connect people with the natural world. I fell in love with Plant Spirit Medicine in 1996, studied with shaman and Five Element acupuncturist Eliot Cowan in 1998, and have been joyfully integrating this healing technique into my treatment sessions ever since
Flower essence therapy, a gentle yet effective modality to support and heal emotional concerns, can be easily used for children and pets as well as adults. Flower essences are especially good at helping fear, grief, insomnia, mental obsession and addictions.
I am certified in the use of Bach Flower Essences for healing and employ those as well as flower essences from North America, Australia and other places.
Essential oils are strong medicines that are specially distilled from plants. One or two drops of an essential oil can be used sparingly on specific acupoints in order to effect physical and mental-emotional change. I focus especially on the use of essential oils to help patients heal from trauma, enhance relaxation, and achieve balance and inner peace.
